Listo

Listo

March 29, 1997 Azteca Gelding

I’ve had Listo since he was two.  He is very talented, very smart and quite the character!  He has taught me everything!  He is quick, he does awesome flying lead changes, and his movement is very animated and collected.  He is much more Andalusian in his movement and form than quarter horse.  He would be great at dressage.  He loves to chase cows.  I have used him team penning, ridden him English and Western and he has even done drill team.  He has all the energy and go you want, but will slow down and has been used as a lesson horse for friends and family.  He is the horse that I put novice riders on because I trust him not to do something stupid.  He loves attention and likes to be the center of it too!  He does it all, roll-aways, 360’s etc…  He is bossy in the pasture; it may be because he is the only gelding surrounded by mares.  He has no vices, unless you call being bossy a vice.  Let me clarify his bossiness; he likes to chase broodmares, but if she won’t run and gives him a good kick, he gets the message.  As for his softer side, his nick name is Uncle Listo, he seems to think it’s his responsibility to guard the weanlings.  And he has done this for about the last three years, or ever since we started having babies at the farm.  He likes to be used and he is definitely a horse that wants to have a job and work.  It’s more of an opportunity for him to show off than actually work.  (Please see “likes to be the center of attention”.) LOL!!

Listo’s pedigree:

Listo has an incredible pedigree.  I don’t know too much about the Andalusian bloodlines, but Teodoro was the stallion to breed to.  Listo can be registered with a few different registries; I just never did, he was my first horse and I have no intention of ever selling him.

Listo is 15.3hh, he has correct conformation and is a beautiful silver gray when he is clean.  And he has a long flowing mane when he hasn’t cropped it off reaching over fences.

Listo is my special boy and this was my opportunity to brag about him.  Thanks for listening!
